The Man Who Launched Savita Bhabhi

Savita Bhabhi is a comic character on the net. The character is urbane, young, beautiful and flamboyant. She is a house wife who has a number of sex-escapades in the absence of her husband, when he is away on work. The comic character has pandered to the Indian psyche, which revolves around a bhabhi( sister in law). Its popularity can be gauged from the fact that the site recorded over 60 million hits last year. That must be some sort of record !

the site and character is the creation of Puneet Agarwal an Indian settled in the United kingdom. Puneet

earlier took 'Deshmukh' as a pseduynm, but soon revealed his true identity. the Indian government in a knee jerk reaction banned Puneets site, but the sponsors re-emerged under a different name.

Nothing much further is is known about  Puneet Agarwal except that he is a 38 year old second generation business man from

The character is a tribute to the imagination of Puneet, who deserves having created this comic character that rivals the best comic characters created in the west. One excellent thing that is happenning is that India is moving forward and the age old taboos are falling by the way side. The purdah, ghungat and restrictions of women are slowling easing away in the Hindu community.

The character 'savita bhabhi' is pretty tame by western standards, but Puneet is to be congratulated for breaking the age old taboos that have so dominated Indian society. However the Indian government has not taken kindly to the character created by Puneet Agarwal and his site is banned , though hard core is freely available. That is the sad dichotomy of the Indian state.
