Virat Kohli Has Come Of Age

Watching the India- Pakistan match at Mirpur in the Asia cup, one fact has emerged that Virat Kohli is the new superstar of Indian cricket. Pakistan had posted an imposing total of 329 and most critics must have thought that all was over bar the shouting. Getting 330 for a win is no easy task. Considering the highest total India had to posted to record a win earlier was 328. After the dismissal of Gautam Gambhir for a duck, the task looked more daunting than ever. The stage was however set for Virat Kohli, who played a great innings. He
flayed the Pakistan attack as never before and Led India to a great victory. Kohli was the lone success of the Aussie tour down under and

here also in the Asia cup he just carried on his form from Australia. There is doubt that India have found a no3 to replace Dravid. Kohli is one step ahead of Dravid who was basically a defensive player, while Kohli is having a sound defense with a aggresive streak. In other words he is a match winner. His driving and cutting of the bowlers was a treat to watch. It was silky batting, that showed the making of a great player. Kohli by hitting 183 showed that he has matured and come of age. This augers well for Indian cricket. Though India got a battering down under, Indian cricket can take heart that ayoung man like Virat Kohli is around. There is thus no room for despondency.
