United States Hardens Stand On 28 Killed Pakistan Soldiers

The death of 28 Pakistan soldiers in a night operation by the NATO choppers has soured the relations  between the USA and Pakistan. Pakistan has asked the US President Barak Obama to express regrets for the incident. But this has not happened and as per reports the USA is in no mood to give a apology, though they have agreed for an investigation into the incident.

The situation is far from normal as 2 more Pakistan citizens have been shot dead in Afghanistan. These men from Baloochistan were visiting their relations across the border. As per the relations of the killed

men , the men were shot dead without any provocation.

US -Pak relations  are on a boil. Pakistan is rightly incensed at the killing of its soldiers. But perhaps the killing is not something simple as in the back ground is the US anger with Pakistan

which is backing the Haqqani faction of the Taliban. The USA and the Afgan government have proof that the Haqqani faction aided by the Pakistan army, were responsible for the deaths  and killings of prominent leaders of the ruling alliance in Afghanistan.

There is no easy solution to the situation as the USA in real terms needs Pakistan as an ally in the fight against terror. Pakistan also is dependent to a great extent on US aid and largesse. Thus I suppose after a little hot period, the situation will cool down. But in the long run the situation that will unfold is anybodys guess. Mike Mullen the outging Chief of Staff of the US armed forces has accused Pakistan of duplicity in the fight on terror. Thus the future has tense possibilities.
