Review Of The Bmw X-1

The BMW is a well known luxury brand. Recently when I wished to upgrade my Skoda Octavia I settled for the BMW X-1. Incidentally both brands Skoda and BMW are owned by the same company. The X-1 is the cheapest of the hatchbacks cum SUV launched by BMW and is priced at a on road price of INR 30 lakh. The car is the model the BMW has launched with a view to capture the car market in India in this segment. O The car is available in both petrol and diesel versions. In all there are 6 variants of the X-1. The
car generates 178 bhp and also despite its power has high fuel economy. It delivers 13-14 km on a lier of petrol while the diesel version returns a fuel economy rate of17-18 km. These figures make the
car highly fuel efficient. The X-1 also has a high ground clearence and can easily navigate small streams and rivulets. Its a real monster and with its tubeless tires a treat to drive. The handling is easy and the drive smooth on super suspension. Op All X-1 cars have automatic transmission, which is a boon particularly in a city like Mumbai, where traffic. Is chaotic. BMW have taken pains as is evident with the 6 gear automatic transmission. The interiors are superb and the AC responsive to Indian conditions. The car is in reality a SUV, which stands heads over other models. The price is bit steep but for a BMW its worth it. The car handles beautifully in the city as well as the highway. Its a car for a man or woman of taste and class
