Lust, Abortion, Kanda And The Suicide Of Deepika

The TV Channels are reporting every day about a suicide of a girl named Deepika. This girl had joined an airline run by the Haryana political leader Gopal Kanda. Subsequently the airline closed and the girl was given another job. However after working with the company of Gopal Kanda she left his company and took a job as an airline hostess in Dubai.

But she was made to resign by Emeritus the company that had hired her and she was jobless at her home. In the mean time it appears that Gopal Kanda repeatedly asked her to come back

and join his company. The girl then committed suicide and left a suicide note blaming Gopal Kanda of harassment. The police have registered a case against Kanda for abetment to suicide and are hunting for him. Kanda is a powerful man with connections and that may be one reason that the Police are unable to nab him.

This suicide of a young girl brings out a strange case of ethics and the story that is emerging is that the entire chapter is sordid and laced with sex. There is no doubt that Kanda seduced Deepika and used her for his sexual pleasure. As per reports the girl also underwent an abortion. The girl at some stage realized that Kanda was a no-good and left

him. Lust now took its part and Kanda repeatedly telephoned and threatened the girl to come back. He lusted for her. There is nothing wrong with lusting for a woman, provided no coercion is involved. This Kanda did and instigated the suicide of Deepika.

The case brings out important aspects of ethics of the rich and powerful. Kanda used all power at his disposal to possess the girl who was half his age. In this he used money power and services of a senior manager of his company, who has been arrested.

The case is murky and brings out that lust and sex is the dominating influence in a man’s life. This is where religion comes in and a man has to work within bounds. As I said Kanda by resorting to harassment and sending a fax to Emeritus that Deepika had committed theft is blatantly criminal. act .The Minister is in hiding, but perhaps ultimately he will be arrested, but in India the tortuous course of Justice may see that Kanda never answers for his crime. The case could drag on for decades and after that nobody will know what happened. The Indian judiciary has a lot to answer for this sordid state of affair.
