Many writers are writing about Factoidz as a writing site. At the outset let me inform my readers that I write on Factoidz under 2 names and have over a 100 articles published. Having said this, I am constrained to write that in my opinion the site is not really as professional as it claims to be.
The site has changed its name to Kanoji, a most unlikely name for an American company. The reasons for this are mysterious, for to throw away a marketable name in one go, must have other reasons as well. But I will leave
The site touts that it lays great stress on grammar. That is a good thing if the site is consistent in its assessments of the articles. I wrote one article on one name and was informed that the article was rejected because of poor grammar. This surprised me as grammar is my strong point. However I resent the article under the other name and lo and behold the article was published with not a hint of any note on grammar. Readers can judge the site on their own now. This is not an isolated case, but I am aware of umpteen cases which show the site to be inconsistent in its approach.
I have also written many product reviews for the site and all are doing well. Recently I wrote a product review which took 29 days to review. I was stumped at the delay and finally I was informed that the product review did not meet the standards. Considering that I had modeled my review exactly as per their recommended review, this was a surprise. Secondly why take 29 days to review it.
Factoidz has many such infirmities and the worst is banning writers for 3 weeks or more after getting 3 rejections. A study has shown that this happens only to Asian writers. Is there a hint of bias in this?
These are just a few points about this site. One can only say that what is apparent is not real.
