The Ethics Of The Atom Bomb

The Atom Bomb was a direct corollory from the famous energy mass equation of Einstein.  This equation stated that  E=MC(Square).  Einstein was a Jew and had to leave Germany during the anti semetic campaign there.  But perhaps he harbored some  resentment against the Nazi and Axis powers. This was part of his reason to sign a letter to President Roosevelt of the USA, urging him to order research for the manufacure of the Atomic bomb. Einstein was fully aware of the  destructive power of an Atmic bomb, yet he put his signature to the letter to President Roosevelt.

The US military

think tank went all out to manufacture the bomb, which was first tested in the USA itself in the  deserts there. At the same time the US military egged on by the men who had manufactured the weapon wanted to test the weapon in an actual battle enviornment. Germany was ruled out as a place to test the weapon, as it was part of Europe and the scientists and the US
personnel who were all from white racial stock could not countenance exploding a bomb in Europe.

The next option was to test it on some Asian power and Japan filled the bill. Thus the USAF  did not do the fire bombing of 3 cities namely Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Kyoto. The aim was to keep these cities intact and then see the effect the bomb had. It mattered little to the scientists and the US military that Japan was a defeated nation and just looking for a face saving way to surrender.

The USAF thus dropped Atomic bombs on Hiroshima  and Nagasaki and the scientist's observed the effect of the bomb. Such callous  behaviour is unbecoming of the siencetific community and the US military. This shows that the west has always applied double standards with all Asian people. Maybe history will set these wrongs aside with the rise of China.
