The Bcci Needs To Be Chastened

The Indian Premier league is in the news for the wrong reasons and these have nothing to do with cricket. The first is sex escapade of an Australian player of the Bangalore team taking part in the IPL. This incident in which the concerned player has been arrested has the son of Vijaya Mallya tweeting his support for the player. Thankfully the owner Vijay Mallya stepped in and announced that the player would not play till he was cleared of all charges. The BCCI washed its hands of the incident when it shouldhave come out with a code of conduct
for all players. Trust the BCCI to bark up the wrong tree. Then we had the match fixing scandal. 5 players have been suspended, but it is obvious the rot is

deeper. If a simple operation can net 5 players, what will a detailed investigation reveal. Then we have the incident of Sharrukh Khan. Here is film star who from all accounts was intocicated and created a ruckus with the security guards at the Wankhede Stadium. The Mumbai cricket association suspended him and lo and behold the BCCI Rajiv Shukla stepped in and opposed the MCA ban of 5 years. It was so silly. Does the BCCI want to condone such acts, that bring a bad name to the fair name of cricket? It is about time an inquiry was conducted into the affairs of the BCCI by a serving judge. Too long this behomoth has been allowed to run like a bull in a china shop. Who will reign in the BCCI,
